It's not the .NET some people remember. Here's why I think it's still one of the most practical choices for backend work.

.NET in 2026 is a different animal than the .NET Framework many people remember. Cross-platform, fast, and with a tooling story that holds up against anything in the ecosystem.

Minimal APIs, native AOT, and improvements to EF Core make it a strong choice for both small services and large systems. The pragmatism is what keeps me coming back.
