About the project
Zodiac Insight started with one simple input, your date of birth, and grew into a full little sky companion. It shows daily, tomorrow, and weekly readings, the current zodiac season, a live moon phase, and which planets are retrograde. Add a birth time and city and it works out your Sun, Moon, and Rising signs and draws your birth chart. Everything runs in the browser using real astronomy calculations, with no backend, no accounts, and no tracking. It also installs as an app and works offline.
What I did
- Detects your sign from your date of birth and keeps it in a shareable link.
- Calculates the real sky in the browser: moon phase, zodiac season, and retrogrades for all eight planets.
- Builds your Big Three and a birth chart wheel from your birth date, time, and city.
- Scores compatibility between any two signs for love, friendship, and work, and explains why.
- Installs as an app and works offline, with unit tests and CI checking every change.
